A night of romance and theater!
SPECIAL Valentine's Day Performance February 14th with seating at 6:00 pm.
Love Letters
by A.R. Gurney
April 18th - May 18th
Special evening performances February 14th, 15th & 16th.
"LOVE LETTERS" by A. R. Gurney is a unique and imaginative
play that reconstructs the lifelong correspondence between Andy and
Melissa, who went to school together, whose relationship evolved beyond
friendship and sibling bonds and romantic ties into something so complete,
that it got taken for granted until too late.
Is letter-writing a dying art? Not in Love Letters, A.R. Gurney's witty,
finely tuned play about a long-distance couple who have remained connected
since second grade through correspondence of the snail-mail variety.
Writing each other letters that trace their diverging paths from teenage
crushes and hormonal highs to tough career choices and extramarital
affairs. Andy and Melissa, the stamp-crossed lovers, have bittersweetly
stayed in touch. This long running on and off-Broadway heartwarming
comedy is truly a night of romance and theater.
Take three delicious, malicious, "Desperate Housewives", add three
miserable, unloving husbands – and chill.
Smell of the Kill
Michele Lowe
September 15th - November 3rd
This show revolves around three marriages that are on the brink of disaster
– and a mistakenly locked meat locker. The women are faced with a
life-or-death decision: Should they leave the men out in the cold –
permanently – or let them thaw?
"…nice, mean fun…a deft little anti-love story…light-hearted,
cold-hearted…" (Newsday) "[a] devilish, wicked, ultimately touching black
comedy." (The Berkshire Eagle) "Effective black comedies are rare these
days and this is a rich torte…it has a superb crustiness which supplies
an evening of nearly continuous laughter." (The Advocate) "…the play
boasts lines and scenes that have the audience laughing as uproariously as
The Producers." (Variety)
"…beats the pants off any other 'woman's show' in the Detroit theater
area..." ( Daily Tribune) "…can be enjoyed by anyone who has 'been there'
in a faded relationship." (Between The Lines)
